Custom LASIK - Portland, Seattle, Spokane, Boise, Renton, Bend, Durham
Restore Vision Centers

Considered fast, easy, safe, and effective, laser eye surgery is gaining popularity by the minute. Millions of people in the U.S. alone are enjoying the benefits of excellent vision with a decreased need for corrective eyewear. Laser eye surgery is the most sought-after elective medical procedure, and is also considered one of the safest, when completed in a dedicated and experienced facility. Laser eye surgery is the only procedure we perform at Restore Vision Centers.

Restore Vision Centers offers several types of laser vision correction so that every patient can obtain personalized, optimal results. Our laser eye surgeons are leaders in the field, combining extensive experience with unmatched expertise to produce outstanding results.

CustomVue Wavefront LASIK and PRK by VISX

Developed to make the LASIK laser eye surgery procedure even more effective, wavefront allows for a complete, personalized measurement of the entire visual system, including the eye's shape, lens shape, corneal shape, depth of the eye, and the most accurate identification possible of anatomic anomalies that could cause vision conditions such as impaired night vision or the presence of halos. After each eye is evaluated, the computer designs a personalized LASIK surgical plan for the patient, and the surgeon loads that plan directly into the computer of our VISX Star 4 laser. Thanks to wavefront, this highly accurate, FDA-approved laser can correct all or most vision problems identified in the plan with one LASIK treatment, whereas traditional LASIK laser eye surgery is a bit more limited in the number of refractive errors it can simultaneously correct.

Not all centers in the Pacific Northwest have made a commitment to invest in the VISX Star 4 LASIK technology. Restore Vision Centers was among the first. Although other lasers make wavefront corrections, FDA trials show the VISX Star 4 laser provides the best outcomes with this technology.

To find out if you are a candidate for wavefront LASIK in Seattle, Portland or another Restore Vision Centers location, please contact one of our eye care professionals and schedule an evaluation. If you live in Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Boise, Idaho; Spokane, Washington; Billings, Montana; Alaska; or anywhere in the Pacific Northwest and are interested in learning more about wavefront LASIK, contact us today.

Comparison of Benefits: LASIK vs. PRK

The major differences between LASIK and PRK include:

  • LASIK laser eye surgery offers a wider range of corrections.
  • LASIK allows for rapid visual recovery, while PRK generally does not provide immediate visual clarity.
  • LASIK eye surgery requires fewer post-operative follow-ups than PRK.
  • PRK patients usually experience discomfort for a few days after the procedure, while LASIK laser eye surgery patients experience minimal discomfort, if any.
  • PRK can treat patients who have certain corneal surface problems that might be aggravated by LASIK, and PRK can, at times, treat smaller eyes or thinner corneas more effectively.
  • Both procedures provide excellent results.

Every year, numerous individuals seeking LASIK eye surgery in Portland, Seattle, Boise, Durham, Spokane and other locations throughout the Pacific Northwest come to Restore Vision Centers for sophisticated, highly effective treatments. In addition to LASIK, the surgeons of Restore Vision Centers perform PRK, a form of laser vision correction that does not require the creation of the corneal flap. In order to help patients establish realistic expectations, the surgeons perform thorough pre-operative consultations, during which time they carefully explain each proposed procedure, including a thorough discussion of the benefits and risks of laser eye surgery.
