Although considered to be safe, LASIK and PRK are nonetheless surgical procedures, and there are side effects and risks associated with them. No one can guarantee perfect results from laser eye surgery. You will be carefully evaluated by our physicians prior to your procedure and given specific instructions to prepare for the surgery and aftercare.
With our advanced diagnostic equipment, we are able determine with high accuracy whether or not you will be a good LASIK candidate. Results are also your personal responsibility. Following your pre- and post-operative care instructions ensures better results. The concerns most often associated with the end result of laser eye surgery are:
- Over- or under-correction
- Pain or discomfort
- Improper healing of the corneal flap
- Haze
- Dry eye
- Infection
- Halos, glare, and decreased night vision
- The need for re-treatment
